Pan-Monarchism
I am a pan-monarchist. I believe that constitutional monarchy is inherently superior to constitutional republic as a government type in all circumstances. This can't be said of all monarchists. Monarchism, like monarchy itself, is to a great extent a reflection of a country's history and unique from place to place. As such while a monarchist in one country may loyally support their own monarchy they can often be indifferent to whether foreign countries embrace a monarchical or republican form of government. This is fine, there is no rule monarchists have to agree on everything.
However, I am many things on many issues but 'indifferent' is not one of them. I believe we have seen incidences in recent history where a constitutional monarchy would have served a country better than the republican form of government they embraced. I believe there are objective arguments in favour of monarchy that should be considered.
That is why while this blog focuses on monarchy in the Canadian context it will often feature news on monarchies and monarchist movements from around the world.
Loyally Yours,
