certainly does nothing to correct that stereotype but let me
say in my own defence that while I love the songs below they
still only make up a small percentage of the total volume of
music I listen to.
The King Beneath the Mountains
Performed by Clamavi De Profundis
Tolkien's poems to song. This will not be the last time you'll
see this group in this post! The King Beneath the Mountains
is a song that monarchists awaiting the restoration of their
sovereigns could well adapt as an anthem.
Cost of The Crown
Performed by Margie Butler
Nightcored by Emem
to speed up a song by some degree. Done right it can give a
slow, ponderous song new energy. Done wrong and you end
up with chipmunks on helium. Cost of the Crown is a rare
song that looks at the proper role of the monarch from their
own, supposed, position.
Song of Durin
Performed by Clamavi De Profundis
enough in praise of this rendition of the Song of Durin. There
are several versions of this song that Clamavi De Profundis
has done both for their own satisfaction and by popular
request.
Song of Kings
Performed by Clamavi De Profundis
Profundis. While I am not a Catholic, the kingship of God is
an important principle of Christianity to remember. And who
can resist a modern take on Gregorian chant?
Good King Wenceslas
Performed by The Skydiggers
older carols. Good King Wenceslas is one of those carols I've
never actually heard sung in person (or sung myself for that
matter).
